Hello Reader,
In November I am leading a Marketing Yourself Intensive, a 6-week group program for experts and entrepreneurs who want to elevate the cornerstones of their personal platforms.
This is not a self-paced online course. It's a group intensive, starting the last week of October, and ending the first week of December.
Would you be interested in joining us? Go here to apply: https://marketingyourselfbook.com/intensive/
If you're like me, you probably have a ton of free resources on your computer, stored in a folder where you will never look at it.
Even though you collect workbooks from everyone, you don't ever find the time to do anything with most of them.
Does this sound familiar? You gather a bundle of free resources (and paid resources) but without implementing the knowledge, it's as useful as a pretty bookshelf full of books you've never read.
The problems with online courses include:
The top selling courses on Udemy have an average completion rate of 8%. The best courses from their best instructors are mostly undone.
Tiago Forte, author of the Building a Second Brain course, says the biggest problem with self-paced courses is: "There is now so much amazing content freely available everywhere that the bottleneck has become people's ability to pay attention, to stay motivated, and to put the knowledge into practice."
According to a paper titled 'The Role of Interactivity in Student Satisfaction and Persistence in Online Learning,' the primary variable in an online student's satisfaction and persistence is the level of interaction between the student and the instructor.
To make a better experience for online students, then, we need to include interaction with the instructor in the learning experience.
That's why I made the Marketing Yourself Intensive.
When I wrote my book Marketing Yourself, I made a companion course that contained 16 workbooks, one for each chapter. The Cornerstone Workbooks are a passive, self-paced online course. You can pay a few bucks, and get access to more helpful content.
But your ability to pay attention, stay motivated, and put the knowledge into practice will be dramatically amplified if we do this work together.
If you want my eyes on your platform, my advice on your strategy, and my feedback on your work, then I encourage you to apply for the Marketing Yourself Intensive.
After filling out the application form, we'll schedule a complimentary 30-minute consultation, so I can learn more about you and your goals. If it seems like you're a fit for the program, I'll offer you a seat - there are a maximum of 20 students.

⚖️ "Companies need to turn their workflows, domain knowledge, and accumulated judgment into AI systems that improve with each use. The companies that build this early will have an advantage that is hard to replicate, regardless of any new individual model capability." - Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft Hello Reader, The years I spent as a marketing automation strategist taught me to see the work move through a workflow, end-to-end. I find myself using those skills more frequently, as I hatch...
💸 “The cost to use a given level of AI falls about 10x every 12 months, and lower prices lead to much more use.” - Sam Altman Hello Reader, Last week I taught a half-day workshop in partnership with the Regional Business Partner Network at Enterprise North Canterbury. We gathered dozens of entrepreneurs and business owners together for an afternoon of AI training. They had heard the hype, seen the demos, and played around with a few tools. But they were still trying to understand how AI could...
🤖 "If you don't learn to how to orchestrate agents now, you'll spend 2027 catching up to people who started today.” - Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google Hello Reader, Xero recently published a report comparing how New Zealanders are using AI. They surveyed more than 1000 professionals, and they found that most people are still using AI like a random toolbox. They open ChatGPT, or Copilot, or Claude, or Gemini. They ask a question, get an answer, copy the useful bits, and move on. That’s fine. A...
